Day 45

gratitude-happiness-2
Gratitude allows us to shift our negative perspective to a perspective of thankfulness. It allows us to see the world through spiritual eyes. Practicing gratitude does not minimize our hurts, but instead allows us to see the blessings that come from our hurts. It is the act of shifting our focus from the negative to the positive.

Are you aware of the blessings in your life? By adopting an attitude of gratitude, you begin to shift from living through your inner critic to living through your inner coach. There are always things to be grateful for. Each and every day you wake up is a blessing. Having eyes that see color and beauty in the earth we live and ears that hear the sounds around is a blessing. Having legs to walk with and hands to hold with is a blessing. Having the people in our lives that we do have is a blessing. Life is a gift that can be erased in a blink of an eye. You don’t want to spend your life looking through eyes of negativity or unappreciation; only seeing the hurt, pain and struggle. There is so much more in life.

For Today

Don’t take for granted the gifts in front of you. No matter how bad a situation, there is always something good happening in it. God is good and will provide, especially during our darkest times. If you struggle to recognize gratitude, pray and ask God to show you and help you to see what you cannot yet see.

Peace and blessings,
Katie

    Ask, Seek, Knock
