There are two kinds of people in this world. There are leaders and there are followers. Both are just as equally as important as the other as long as they are submitting to the right master.
I always thought I was born a leader. I see a vision and I know how to put it into place by gathering others who have similar passions. I am organized, reliable and dependable. While those are all incredible qualities in a leader, they are not always the most important.
I have a strong personality with stong views about how something “should” be done. That quality is the one that used to get me stuck. The vision laid out before me would become about what I thought “should” be done instead of listening to those I was called as a leader to bring into the vision.
I learned that being a good leader is really about planting the vision, gathering the right people and putting them into place and action, then allowing the vision to unfold through them.
Being a good leader is knowing when to lead and when to submit and follow. It is also about knowing who and what to follow or submit to.
Sometimes I am called to lead and sometimes I am called to submit and follow. I believe the same is true for a natural born follower. The key is to know who and what I am living for. I believe we are all followers if we submit to the same purpose.
For Today
Take a moment to reflect on who you live your life for. Do you live your life following others or do you live your life controlling others? If you live your life following others, then you will miss the works you are called to lead. If you live your life controlling others, then you will miss the works you are called to submit to. Both change the outcome of the bigger meaning and purpose. Know when you are called to lead and when you are called to submit. Know who you are called to lead and who you are called to submit to. Do not let yourself become a puppet in the hands of the wrong master.
Peace and blessings,
Katie
