Do not let yourself become consumed with what you want different in your life. While wanting is a great motivation to make positive changes, it can also keep you from seeing the blessings right in front of you.
My son turns 12 today. I feel like he was two just a few years ago. I can’t believe how fast time flies by. Before I know it, he will be off to college. It forces me to reflect on my time spent as his mother.
Do I have regrets? Absolutely! But did I have time these last 12 years to enjoy my son, get to know him and allow him to get to know me? Yes I have, but not as much as I’d like.
Time with our loved ones is such a precious gift. Our relationships are blessings.
Sometimes we get so consumed with life that we miss the time we have with them; therefore we don’t get to experience the fullness of the blessings in front of us.
We spend our time consumed with work, drama, or on mindless activities such as t.v., social media and electronics. Our desires for more and our wants for better consume us. Drama and chaos keep us from seeing what we could better focused on. We don’t take the precious time we have in front of us to enjoy the gifts before us. And before we know it, time has passed by and those gifts are gone.
For Today
Take a moment to reflect on your time and energy. Are you consumed by things that prevent you from seeing or enjoying the blessings before you? If so, change it. Make time to see your gifts and more importantly, time to enjoy them. When we live a life of balance, we allow a portion of our time to see and enjoy the blessings and gifts in front of us.
Peace and blessings,
Katie
